More Certs

Well, been studying again... and have since become an Apple Certified Professional in Motion 4 and Color 1.5

For some reason I though I would not like Color , and color correction, but it really is a class piece of software and quite easy to use, one you get your head around it.   Granted being good at it is another story, and with out proper high res monitors, you wont really get going, but I think with 97.7% in the exam, I have grasped the basics.

And also.. a big congrats to me for also passing the Apple Certified Trainer course.
And thanks to Liam in Big Wave Media , for giving me a start as a trainer.

Captain Magic

Captain Magic were asked to play at the opening of  the new dart station, Clongriffin, and I was asked to video it and do a bit of an edit on it. Its starting to come together and should be ready in a day or two.

no more FTP

dont ya hate it when someone has the user name you want to use .. oh well , never mind.
It seems blogger, is doing away with FTP blogging, sometime in march.
Still no harm, perhaps should have been using this format from the start... if I knew what I was doing.

Apple Certification

Yay, I passed my Final Cut Pro 100, Apple Certification. Been using the software for years, but the exam was tricky. Still, with 87.5%, it seems I did know a thing or two about it.

exciting news.. well, it is for me. Have upgraded my OS, to Snow Leopard (reasonable at €30), because I had to, so I could upgrade to Final Cut Studio 3 (mm not so reasonable, but not bank breaking at €300) Anyway, am now getting to grips will all the extra new features, with the intention of becoming an Apple Certified trainer. So still a few steps to go, but it is a good first few steps. Wish me luck.. and of course, Seasons greetings to one and all. Ed

Have changed all the webpage backrounds on my website to white. I dont remember why, but I know there was a reason why it was not white in the first place. Some things were disappearing. Cant remember what, seems fine now.

voice over

Thanks to Tony at Satellite.ie, for another "how to" training video. I am almost getting used to the sound of my own voice on the voice-overs.

the merry month of May

Its sunny out, but still a cold wind that blows. Still huge improvement from the days of seeing my breath every morning in the studio. Did a bit of a show reel for the website front page, but could still be a lot better. Suggestions on a post card (or email) would be good

bit depressing

all this budget talk and economic depression, is getting quite depressing.
My eyes hurt from looking a computer screens too much. If I told my opticion, how many hours a day, I have no doubt she would scream. hmmm.

Podcast, video, with audio this time.. but you might want to turn the volume down.
For anyone who does not recognise the places, the missile is the "spire" a major Dublin landmark, and the building is the Dáil , the Irish house of parliment.

blender 3d software

my "Blender for Dummies" book arrived today, so its back to school for me.
It is great software, and totally free. Open-source (which I am vaguely aware means, programmers can add to and improve the software... , which I might do.. somewhere in a parallel universe, not in this one though) Its not easy to get started, pretty steep learning curve, but for starters just want to do some funky 3d text. And my version of Toystory/Shrek, can follow in due course (have probably started them already in the parallel universe) Or have a look at this.
